It wasn’t a hype-driven launch. It was a prime example of how even an obscure developer, by leveraging a powerful new model, can create a must-have app.

Greg Isenberg used it to highlight the growing power of AI “wrappers,” showing how the real advantage often goes to whoever builds the most compelling interface on top of cutting-edge tech.

And I agree with him here.

Not too long ago, no one wanted to be caught dead running a so-called “GPT wrapper” startup. It sounded like building on someone else’s shoulders without doing any of the real work. Yet these companies might have the strongest moats of all.

Wrappers are written off as trivial add-ons, doomed to be steamrolled by a competitor or who had direct access to a better model.
